HFM 2010 Halloween Masquerade Ball Flyer

Hello everyone!

Halloween has ALWAYS been a favorite holiday in our home!  We’ve held many awesome Halloween parties and Megan loved to have all of her friends join in!

This year, we are having a Halloween Masquerade Ball through HopeForMegan, in Meg’s honor.  As we join together for a night of SPOOKTACULAR fun, we’ll also be raising funds for other local families with kids battling brain cancer.  Meg had a wonderful outlook on life and, in spite of her challenges, she loved to do things to help others!!  Let’s make this event a HUGE success, as part of Megan’s legacy.

We have attached the Halloween Masquerade Ball Flyer, with all of the information you need to know….just CLICK ON THE LINK ABOVE THIS STORY.  We hope that you’ll have a laugh or two, when you look at the pictures on our Flyer.  Do you know who that cute little butterfly is?  ….How about the old man and old lady?

We are also getting ready to put up a BIG BILLBOARD on Route 140, right near where Meg’s last billboard stood.  We had fun designing the layout and we are sure that it’ll make you ALL SMILE, as you drive by!!!  ….Who is that chicken?

The Halloween Ball will be the last major event of 2010 and we are working hard to make it a BLAST!!!  …….PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!!

FOR TICKETS….Please EMAIL hopeformegan@gmail.com OR CALL (410) 935-2310.

If you’d like to VOLUNTEER to help with Halloween decor or other tasks the day of the event, please email Joanne at hopeformegan.com.

We can’t wait to see all of you at the PARTY!!!

We’re looking forward to seeing some very CREATIVE COSTUMES!!

With gratitude,

Joanne Eisenstadt, aka Megan’s Mom

Meg’s 17th Birthday

by admin on August 5, 2010

in Updates

It has been a difficult day.  Today was Meg’s 17th birthday.  We continue to celebrate her life, her smile and her strength.

We have been blessed by the outpouring of love in recognition of Meg’s birthday.  Meg’s Facebook page is no less than amazing and we are always so thankful to receive messages at HopeForMegan@gmail.com.  How touching it is to see so many people share their hearts and express such love and goodness.  Some of the entries and messages are awe-inspiring.

One particular entry was written by a young man who briefly met Meg in high school…I think her junior year.  He used to live in New Orleans and struggles to take the correct life path.  He writes of his conversation with Meg.  She approached him when he first arrived at the school, introduced herself and offered to give him a tour.  He says that she encouraged him to focus on what is truly important and try to stay out of trouble.  I pray that he remembers and chooses the right path….with the help of an angel.

Some time ago, another young man wrote to tell me that Meg’s story inspired him so much, that he held his own fundraiser and raised $4,000 to donate for an illness that he himself was afflicted with.  He felt empowered by Meg’s strength and grateful for everything in life, despite his challenges.  I pray that he conquers his difficulties….with the help of an angel.

I keep a special flame burning in my heart for Meg, as do several others that are close to our family….our HopeForMegan family.  We very much want to continue fundraising in Megan’s name.  She loved to do whatever she could to help others.

We hope to see many of you at the 9/3/2010 HFM Orioles game fundraiser.  Please contact Meg’s Aunt Spaghetta Loretta for tickets at rothehome@comcast.net or at 410-935-5359 or you can purchase tickets by clicking on the link on the HopeForMegan website at www.hopeformegan.com.

Please help us to keep HopeForMegan alive, so that we can help other local children and teens with the medical costs associated with fighting brain cancer…..in Megan’s memory.

Meg’s spirit soars through the warm summer sky.

Sparks of sunshine and pieces of rainbow fall from beneath her wings.

She is a light to so many, inspiring some of the most beautiful acts of love.

Blessings to you and yours,

Joanne

aka Megan’s Mom

Meg…A Magnificent Soul

April 23, 2010

It has been almost 3 months since Meg’s passing.  When someone so dear passes, you spend time reflecting, imagining & hoping.  Where is she?  Is she happy?  Is she scared?  Does she watch us?  Is she an angel?  She must be an angel after enduring so much pain with such grace.  Can she send us signs?  Can she make [...]

Megan’s Strength

February 16, 2010

It is 11:36pm, Monday, 02/15/2010. This is Megan’s Mom.  The last blog that I posted was about Meg’s good MRI report on Friday, 01/15/2010.  A lot has happened since that day.  After receiving that MRI report, we were happy….but, our happiness was short-lived. Into the weekend, we realized that Meg had suffered a loss of vision in both of her eyes.  She [...]

A Step in the Right Direction…

January 17, 2010

Thursday, 01/14/2010, Uncle GG, Aunt Cindy & I took Meg to Children’s National for her scheduled MRI.  This was a very important test.  The doctors would use this MRI to determine whether or not they thought the clinical trial drug was helping Meg fight her brain cancer.  If the drug was not working, then the treatment [...]

A New Year for Megan….

Happy 2010 to all.  Our family is thankful for the blessing of a new year.  Year end 2009 brought some difficulties for Megan and we have been trying to help her struggle through each challenge.   Please forgive me for not writing with updates about Megan since before Hannukah.  It has just been very difficult to find the words to blog.  We have [...]
