Megan will ALWAYS have a spot in our hearts.

Marjie Poffel (friend of VanDyke) February 2, 2010 at 1:12 pm

This loss is way too soon and leaves a huge void in the hearts of all who knew Megan. Her inspiration is the only thing left behind; she will never be forgotten.

We’ve been following Megan’s journey on her website and have been very moved by Megan’s courageous spirit and beautiful smile! She will remain in all of our hearts, reminding us not to take one day for granted. What a special young lady!

To The Family and Friends of Megan,
May God’s grace and your strenght guide you through this difficult time. Always know in your hearts that you mean’t the world to Megan. Always, always, always continue to share the wonderful stories of her precious life. She is in heaven now and free of worry and pain. God has greeted her with love and holds her in the palm of his hand. I will continue to keep all of you close in heart and prayer. I will also continue to hold the dearest of memories of Megan close to my heart. She will be looking down on all of us…… so be sure to look up with a smile. We will all meet her someday in heaven and oh the stories she will tell. Megan….thank you for a life very well done.
Love, Miss Sue

Although I have never met Megan or the family, from reading this blog, I can see how she touched so many lives. Megan was friends with a few people I know and that is how I was directed to the blog. My prayers are with the family at this time and I know that Megan is now at peace and is smiling down on us all.

God Bless.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Eisenstadt and Family:

There are no words to to adequately convey sorrow or condolences at a time like this – but please know that my heart and my spirit groan for what you and Megan went through during her illness and for your loss.

I lost my wife and mother of our 3 boys several years ago to breast cancer and the hospice nurses shared this incredible poem with me during the last few days of her life – maybe you’ve read it too. It gave me a new perspective and a real sense of peace. I hope it does the same for you:
_______________________

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!”

“Gone where?”

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: “Here she comes!”
__________________________

While your precious daughter is gone from our sight, Megan has been perfected. No more pain. No more sorrow. Only the joy that awaits those of us who trust in the Lord for our salvation. As you said, “Goodbye,” to Megan, there were multitudes in Heaven enthusiastically greeting and welcoming her with love and acceptance.

And there she’ll wait, basking in the glory of the Lord until she greets us someday with her warm smile and open arms.

While this “vision” may seem too good, too incredible to be true right now, it IS true and worthy of our full acceptance. God is love. God loves us. He would not have given us this great hope unless it were true.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:2

God bless you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

The Anderson Family February 5, 2010 at 8:48 pm

Though I did not personally know the family of Megan I would like to extend my condolences to you. Megan, who I got to know about because of Hope For Megan, was a very courageous young girl who seemed to be at peace with the challanges that were delt to her. Though she struggled through her illness, she can now rest. I hope you find inner strength to know that so many were touched by Megan’s will to fight and keep going. I wanted you know that my thoughts are with the family at your time of sorrow. Best wishes to you as you begin the healing process.
